Reflecting on Another Year of Collaborative Care with DVM STAT

As the 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the growth and impact of DVM STAT Consulting.

This year, we’ve had the privilege of connecting with hundreds of small animal veterinarians across the U.S. and Canada, providing immediate case support and ongoing guidance.

Together, we’ve impacted the standard of veterinary care for patients in every corner of North America, having completed over 12,000 consultations and counting.

Collaboration in Action

➡️ Many of the patients we assisted were critically ill, and through collaboration between emergency veterinarians, dedicated veterinary technicians, and DVM STAT Criticalists, these patients received a level of care comparable to what they might experience in a referral hospital.

➡️ For many cases, referral to a specialty hospital wasn’t an option due to geography, financial constraints, or the patient’s instability. This is where DVM STAT made a difference—offering expert guidance remotely while primary veterinarians provided hands-on care and client communication.

➡️ Some of our most impactful cases this year involved partnerships with highly skilled specialists in other fields at busy specialty referral hospitals. From oncology to internal medicine to radiology and critical care, we’ve seen the power of collaboration among multiple experts working together to maximize the chances of a positive outcome for critically ill patients.

This one-on-one specialist collaboration benefits not only the pet but also the veterinarian, offering immediate guidance, support, and the best chance for a positive outcome - 24/7/365.

Adapting to Your Needs

What sets DVM STAT apart is the versatility of our service.

We don’t just support general practitioners or emergency doctors; we’re called upon in a variety of unique scenarios:

✅ Supporting busy specialty referral hospitals overnights or on the weekends.

✅ Filling in for specialists who are out of town or during staffing transitions.

✅ Guiding newer ER veterinarians as they build their confidence and skill set.

✅ Providing a second opinion when more heads are better than one.

This year, DVM STAT has been a trusted partner in all these situations and more, showing that collaboration with veterinary specialists should be a cornerstone of every practice.

Empowering Veterinarians

Our specialists come from academic and specialty referral backgrounds, where collaboration with colleagues is second nature. Yet, not every veterinarian has on-site access to specialists. That’s where DVM STAT comes in—bringing the expertise, compassion, and collaboration of a specialty hospital to your practice, just a call or click away.

By setting up a free DVM STAT account, you open the door to personalized one-on-one guidance from specialists ready to assist with cases ranging from chronic to complex, critical to confusing.

We’re here for it all, and we can’t wait to work with you and your team in the year ahead!

Here’s to another year of partnership, collaboration, and improving patient outcomes together.
