Why DICOM Matters
DICOM images are essential for maximizing diagnostic accuracy. They preserve all image data, allow dynamic evaluation (cine), and enable precise measurements - resulting in more confident interpretation and better clinical outcomes.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Ultrasound Consult
DVM STAT offers ultrasound interpretation through two services:
Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) – for anatomic, structural review
Internal Medicine – for consults involving case management and differential review
Choose the service that best fits your clinical question.
Ultrasounds submitted through the Internal Medicine service will include a specialist review of imaging in the context of case management. A full medical history and attached medical records are required for an internal medicine ultrasound consultation.
Image Quality Is Important
For remote ultrasound review, be sure to include:
Labeled cine loops for dynamic evaluation
Labeled still DICOM images for measurements and structure
Full patient history and supporting diagnostics
Upload PDFs & DICOM files via the consult request form (no ZIP files, please)
Ultrasound image count is typically <50 images/study
